"EARTH" "SPIRIT" "FIRE" - the basic foundation of ceramics. The pursuit of this creative art expression led to the formation of the California Japanese Ceramic Arts Guild. Composed of potters of Japanese ancestry living in Southern California, the Guild is a continuing presence at the Nisei Week Festival in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. In addition to the annual Nisei Week Exhibit, the Guild pursues further knowledge and methods of ceramics through workshops, guest lecturers, gallery shows, benefit fairs, and special firings.
